Struggling thru the Economy

Real estate this year though difficult has had its good points. First of all, we, Realtors, have found that we must work much harder and that fact has weeded out a lot of agents who thought this would be an easy job to make the big bucks. haha.

This is a very good thing, you see, because it turns out that to make a living in real estate you have to have your heart in it. There were a few agents that did not believe they were supposed to be Realtors and have gone on to a variety of occupations. A good Realtor motto would be, "You get what you put into it." And, if you put your heart and soul into it, you get many years of heart and soul back from your clients. This is not to say that there is not any heartache. There is plenty of that. But, if you are an ethical agent, you will see many rewards for years to come in referrals. What goes around, comes around.

Hickory real estate has actually done really well this year despite our tragic economy. The summer months have experienced the most productive sales. It has slowed in September but this is normal. Folks are getting their kids, young and old, back into the various school systems and that takes some $$. My husband and I have felt that crunch, too, but next month we will be back in the mood to dream.

We are heading to MN tomorrow to visit family. It will most probably be a working vacation. Those are the only kind I've had for the last decade except when we flew across the Atlantic and my cell phone did not work. yeah!

It will all be here on my return and I look forward to it.

See you soon.
